“That’s me…”

New Year is closer again, so again new dreams, expectations… I do really love New Year, perhaps only because everyone is waiting for their New Year’s miracle and looking for the best way to welcome it.

As in the life of all graduates, as well as in my life, this year is filled with many interesting and impressive events. Of course, there is exam tension and busyness, but along with that, we should also enjoy our teenage years. The coming year is really very decisive for each of us, and to my mind the dreams and wishes of all of us are mainly related to expected success in studies. I don’t stand out either and I really want the next year to contribute even more to the development of the path chosen by each of us. I think it will be very interesting, because we will already start focusing on our future profession, and we will also continue our interests in other fields. For example, despite the fact that my future profession is not related to foreign languages, I attach great importance to the knowledge of foreign languages and try to spend my free time studying foreign languages and cultures of different countries. I do really find it fascinating and In my opinion it’s also a very great skill for future life.

I really want the coming year to be a successful, unforgettable and, of course, peaceful year. I want us to see every miracle of the New Year and believe that dreams can be kept not only with a falling star, but also with every little flake that falls from the bright sky of the magical New Year’s night. All dreams and goals come true one day, you just have to believe and wait.

Some people fail in school but end up being successful in life.

It is often told that many people who were unable to perform well in school turned out to be a great achiever in their future life.

First of all, most educational institutions are still following the old-fashioned methods of teaching and they only consider the grades. So many students drop out. Thus it is evident that failing in school isn’t necessarily a sign of intellectual weakness. To my mind one of the things that makes people successful is curiosity. It is what drives people to be creative and determined. And that is why so many people aren’t successful in school. Because they’re spending their time getting a degree in something they think they should do instead of spending their time learning about something that truly interests them. I also believe that success actually requires a variety of skills and personality traits. For example, in order to be successful in life, a person must work really hard. Education is of course essential, but without hard work and perseverance, no one can achieve success in life. However if someone couldn’t achieve good grades at school, it’s never late to start again and work on yourself, until you achieve your goals.

To sum up I would like to say that just because someone failed in school, it doesn’t mean they can’t become successful in life. Success is actually a result of hard work and perseverance.

What I’m looking forward to most this year is…

It’s important to know where you’re headed, what to look at, and how you should aim yourself. That’s why I assume that in this life everyone has some goals and of course, everyone is looking forward to them. As for me having something to look forward to is a key to happiness.

This school year I’m in the twelfth grade and I’m sure this year will be as exciting and lovely as the last one. Though this year, I’m looking forward to getting ready for exams and I can say that it’s the essential part of this year. I would like to learn new languages either, as I’m very affected by foreign languages, culture, and life. And also it’s important to learn more effectively and better than last year since there’s so much I want to learn and experience. And finally, the last thing that I’m looking forward to most is traveling. I adore traveling to different countries all over the world and learning a lot about them.

In conclusion, I want to say that looking forward to something is very important, cause if you have nothing to look forward to, you have no work and responsibility, no dream to work towards, and no purpose. As a result, we always need to look forward to something to be motivated and feel better.

My year review

Here comes the end of another year. It is time to reflect on the year that has gone by and prepare for the year to come. Firstly I would like to say that this year was really very productive and I learned lots of new things. All the exercises are included in my blog’s English section. So my English section has 2 parts: Essays and Exercises. I can say that this year we did lots of exercises from Destination, New English File and other books. Those exercises helped us a lot to improve our grammar. We also wrote lots of essays. I do really like all of them, cause they’re all very interesting. By writing each essay we learn lots of new phrases, words and it also improves our grammar. These are some of my favorite essay topics; “Who inspires me the most”, “Should students evaluate their teachers?”, “If you could make one important change to world today, what change would you make?”. I also did a translation from English to Armenian. I translated “The skylight room” by O. Henry, which is probably one of my favorite translations. So I’m sure I’ll continue doing other translations.

This year we also traveled a lot.

Thus next year I’m looking forward doing lots of other entertaining projects and traveling to different places that I haven’t been yet.

All parents should be required to attend parenting classes before having a child

Raising children is difficult and challenging for parents today. Some parents think that they should take part in parenting classes to become better parents. Others believe that it is unnecessary for parents to join in parenting training courses. There are millions and millions of people that have no idea where to start with raising or even taking care of a child. Most mothers who are expecting a child are too young to understand child psychology and parenting. That’s why I agree that taking parental courses will be helpful for people who want to maintain a positive relationship with their children. Especially for new parents it also becomes helpful to take care of their babies.

To begin with, the main purpose of these classes is to provide different aspects of how parenting skills would impact their children’s growth. As a consequence, some children are not getting family support which is leading them to do crimes. Hence, these courses teach how parents should handle children in a civil manner and even sometimes parenting skills will be advising parents if they intend to get a divorce. On the other hand, there are many aspects that parenting skills would be useful because it would make more comfortable relationship with children. Moreover, they can learn, at each stage what to do with the child’s life and even though parents are not even in a relationship they can learn how to raise children together.

In conclusion, of course it would be better if parents attended such classes, but they have the right to decide whether they what to attend or not. So it’s up to them.

Should students evaluate their teachers?

Nowadays, education is at the top of people’s concern. Most of schools consider the interaction between students and teachers as an important role in the teaching process. Therefore, I assume that students should have the right to evaluate teachers, also the content and the methods of teaching. First of all, students are the very people who receive knowledge and lessons from their teachers directly thus their evaluations must be exact and appropriate. Students can express true opinions about their teachers and those opinions are very helpful for schools to know their teachers better. In this way, schools can have right methods to improve their staff. Furthermore, evaluations from students will make teachers perform their tasks better. As teachers know that their students always consider their teaching methods, they will be stimulated to do well at the class. Besides, students’ view will help teachers to find out their most effective teaching way and also their skills and experience can be boosted to a higher level. It also helps the teacher and student to be able to learn from each other. A good teacher will value the input from the students and use it to improve their teaching style. By that way, schools indicate that they really appreciate their students’ opinions and feelings. Hence, students may feel more comfortable and free. Also, when evaluating teachers, students have to pay attention to their lessons and they may realize their attitude of studying as well. They may become more motivated and then may engage and listen more carefully during the class.

To sum up, I believe that schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers. That idea will help both students and teachers to do better in their tasks.

People recognize a difference between children and adults. What events make a person an adult?

To begin with, there is a big difference between children and adults. The children need to be cared while the adults have the ability to take care of themselves. In family, parents always prepare everything and create a comfortable condition for children. Children at home are almost carefree, and don’t need to worry about cooking, washing, making cleaning, and the only thing they have to care of is study. So, the moment they realize that it’s their life to live on their own, it makes them an adult. And it is more important that they have to think independently and make decisions like adults.

The first event that makes a person an adult is getting a job. The ability to earn his own money gives a person the opportunity to live independently from his parents. Personally, I think the first job is a very important experience in person’s life and it has a great impact on his personality. Also they learn how to save money for the more important things. The second event, which from my opinion deserves an attention, is the graduation from a college or university. I think it is a very essential step in one’s life because this means the beginning of a new life with more responsibilities.

In conclusion, I think that the list of events that make a person an adult can be continued. For example, another important event in a person’s life is the army. Many young men become more serious, self-confident and independent people after the army.

A great number of professionals are leaving their countries to work in developed countries

Recently migration has become increasingly common among the undeveloped countries. A large number of highly skilled professionals are migrating from poorer nations to the developed nations. The main reason for this is the poor facilities and opportunities in their native place. In my opinion one of the possible solutions to deal with professionals leaving their country is for their government to encourage them to stay by offering better work conditions. Another solution is for poorer countries to offer better standards of living, more tolerance and a positive future as a way to entice people back to their own country after they have completed their training abroad. Institutions can offer better benefits like more salary, paid vacation and research opportunities. This can provide job satisfaction to the workers who may choose to stay in their existing jobs. Skill training and better education would motivate the professionals and stay back home. This method is proven to be successful in many countries to decrease the number of migrants per year. Also if they are paid with adequate salary, they will never leave their mother land. This is because with good pay they can enjoy a good lifestyle similar to what developed countries offer and through recognition they will be widely accoladed for their contributions to society. Legal bodies should also make mandatory that professionals can only leave the country after serving the nation for two or three years.

In conclusion, it is clear that there are obvious reasons for people to leave their native land. Though the migration of professionals towards developed regions is highly problematic for their own country, it can be controlled by providing them with some extra facilities and it will positively bright future of that country.

Peace and war

Is there anything worse than war? I guess no. War is a terrible evil and it causes big sufferings to lots of innocent people. Many people argue that war is a necessary evil, and the only process of solving international disputes. But, in reality, war happens, only because people aren’t ready to settle disputes in a peaceful manner. By the way I don’t agree with that idea, cause there are lots of innocent children and humans that suffer during war. Though the only thing they want is a peaceful life in their country.

To my mind the most effective way to diminish human suffering and the massive economic costs of conflicts and their aftermath is to prevent conflicts in the first place. The United Nations plays an important role in conflict prevention, using diplomacy and mediation. Among the tools the Organization uses to bring peace are special envoys and political missions in the field.

Modern war carries destruction even to areas of peace, inhabited by civil population. Cities and corn fields and bridges and factories are blasted out by heavy bombing from the air. It puts back the hands of the progress of years, and man has to build afresh what he had created with so much money and toil. So wars aren’t the option to the problems. Instead, they create troubles and produce disgust among nations. Whatever be the cause of the war, it is always life-threatening. War kills, injures and disables the very people who must carry it out. So the government should stop wars in order to prevent damage.

The untitles

  • Do you fit in with the rest of your family or are you the black sheep in the family? Does your family have a black sheep? If so, who is it?

The “black sheep of the family” is a term that refers to a family member who is considered strange, eccentric, or not aligned with the family’s values. Sometimes “black sheep” can be used to refer to a person who is considered a criminal or troublemaker. So I assume that I’m not the “black sheep” of our family, cause I always fit in with the rest. In general we always try to fit in with each other in our family.

  • Tell us a rags-to-riches story about someone from your country. Does this person’s story inspire you?

One of my friends started an online store of handmade jewelry. At first she didn’t get any order, though she worked really hard, she made lots of incredible bracelets and necklaces. But she didn’t give up and after a few weeks she received lots of orders. So if you really work hard for something it will always work out. Instead of focusing on how you stack up next to someone else, invest that energy into comparing your recent work with the work you made six months ago or a year ago.

  • Tell us about something difficult that you had to do that you were somehow able to pull off. How were you able to pull it off?

Five years ago, I was going to English out-going classes, where we took an exam every month. At first it was really unusual for me and a little bit scary. It was really difficult for me to get used to it. But then I realized it’s pretty easy, and I overcame it.

  • Have you ever been in the right place at the right time? Tell us about it. Have you ever been in the wrong place at the wrong time? Tell us about it.

I really wanted to meet one of my friends, who lived abroad, but I didn’t knew anything about her since she went abroad. Once I heard that she’s going to come back on a vacation, but I didn’t even knew when and how.
So one day my sister offered me to go shopping and have fun. Though I wasn’t in the mood, she insisted, so I had to go. While we were choosing clothes for us, I suddenly saw my friend in front of us. I screamed, shocked and went to hug her, so we finally met. I was the happiest person alive. So I can say I was in the right place at the right time.

During the last earthquake I was at my grandparents house, they live on the 9th floor, so I really felt the earthquake and it scared me a lot. I really didn’t want to go, I wanted to stay at home that day, but as I haven’t seen them for a long time I went. If I hadn’t gone, I might not have felt the earthquake so much, as we live on the 2nd floor. I was really in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Community service as a punishment for a minor offense

In this essay I would like to talk about community service, also known as community restitution, which is a form of punishment intended to benefit the community that’s been harmed by an offender’s crime. Community service is used instead of other forms of punishment, such as fines or detention.

We have so many young men and women in jail sitting in a boring small room becoming depressed and possibly having bad ideas integrated into their heads by dangerous criminals. I assume more people, especially teens should be forced to actually work outside cleaning up our roads where they can at least see what it’s like to do something good. To my mind it makes some of the local people feel better, mainly that it’s supposed to be something good and it seems like it costs less than prison and might do more to rehabilitate criminals. Jail is a negative and unhealthy place in general. But in my opinion, some of them can also have serious criminal backgrounds. It’s not fair to put law abiding people at risk to get free labor. Some people are hardened criminals and simply need to be locked up to protect society.

So in conclusion I would like to add that it depends on the crime and what kind of person is the guilty.

“He turned around and promised himself to never come back”

Once in a great cheerful family there was a very nice guy who had dreams about becoming a pilot. He had all opportunities to achieve his dreams because he was born in a rich family and whenever he wanted something he would have that in a minute. But everything was fine till the war started. He was really young and he didn’t understand anything about wars, genocide etc. The day that the war started he was at school so they told children to go home quickly and consult with their foreigners. As he came back home the tragic started, he saw all of his family members lying down on the floor, everything in the house was broken, everything was broken like his heart at that moment. Though being that young he took the worst pain in his heart. After that as he should he buried his family members, it was really painful for him to do that on his own, but he was really young and he had no one at that time. He couldn’t even stay in that house because he got some mental problems after that (depression, psychopathic thoughts and so on) and thought that there are ghosts in the house. So he decided to leave the house because he thought that it was cursed and when he was there all of the memories came along. He packed his things, opened the door, turned around and promised himself to never come back. After many many years he became a very successful writer, even though he wanted to become a pilot since he was 10 he became a writer because the only way of telling people his story was writing. So he wrote a book called “One life for my family” and achieved lots of awards.
